ABOUT US

Manor Farm Tythe Barn was built in approximately 1592 and was originally used to store tithe farmed from the surrounding farms.

A proportion of the tithe (usually barley, wheat and beans) was paid to the local church of St Mary’s and the remainder stored in the barn for use as feed for the farm’s livestock.

The barn with its exposed beam framework, beautiful tall ceilings and ample space made an ideal location for storing crops away from the elements.

After many years of farming diversification and a decline in production, the barn became less used and sadly fell into disrepair.
It was in 2002 that the current owners of Manor Farm set about transforming the barn into one of the most beautiful Barn Wedding Venues in Oxfordshire.

OUR FIRST WEDDING

After the renovation work had started, everything just had to be perfect…

The Benfield family started work in 2002, initially fixing the supporting beams and then carefully making repairs to the roof and walls.

It was a project that took nearly two years, but it was a labour of love that took passion and dedication.

In 2005 the Benfield family were proud to host their first wedding, for their daughter Vikki… and the rest as they say is history.

The venue was even more beautiful than we imagined and everyone was commenting on how stunning it is - we literally couldn't have chosen a more perfect location for our day! We do not have words enough to thank Vikki & Tony Heath from Manor Farm Tythe Barn for helping to make our wedding day quite simply perfect! They are exceptionally special people who helped us to realise our vision for our wedding reception. They had so much time for us before the big day and are so talented at the preparation, that our whole experience with them was such a pleasure! Our afternoon started with drinks on the lawn accompanied by a vintage singer, before moving into the exceptionally beautiful Tythe Barn for afternoon tea and then dancing the night away with a ceilidh. However, the beauty of this venue is that you can make the day completely your own; they are utterly flexible and open to your ideas and wishes. Throughout the day their team were exceptionally professional and hugely friendly with it. Vikki and Tony’s organisation is second-to-none! We genuinely cannot recommend the team and venue at Manor Farm Tythe Barn more highly enough!

Your wonderful Manor Farm setting was perfect in every way for our daughter and new son-in-law's wedding reception, and your dedication and attentiveness to all their guests was superb. Throughout all our planning and the day itself we felt that nothing was too much trouble. You dealt with all our questions and enquiries with professionalism and always put us at ease. Many guests have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to, commenting on the fantastic setting of both the drinks reception on the extensive lawns, and the tythe barn itself. The catering was also excellent and we all enjoyed the delicious canapés and spit-roast reception meal - superb food and so much of it! At Manor Farm we are a family run barn wedding venue, which we feel is one of our greatest assets.

When we started the business we never wanted to lose sight of the family and community feel, something that is very important to us and our Oxfordshire roots.
We’ve partnered with the best local wedding suppliers around, from caterers and hire companies ensuring that we keep the ‘local’ feel. We’re passionate about what we do, we focus on you and your day, ensuring that you have the most wonderful day that you’ll remember forever.

One of the reasons that we’re so popular is our enviable location. We’re just minutes from Bicester and in reach of the M40, Bicester, Oxford, Buckingham and Aylesbury, surrounded by green fields and glorious views of the countryside.

YOUR WEDDING

The barn is licenced for up to 150 guests (120 seated), which we can seat in a number of styles. We’ve also got a great courtyard, a bar and marquee outside the barn, which is ideal for taking some of the action outside.
